The holidays are simply the most wonderful time of the year! There is always a flurry of gift wrapping, tree trimming, and celebrating throughout the season. Whether you prefer a quiet evening by the fire or large gatherings, there is something magical about Christmastime, with familiar carols playing in the background and greenery all around. We look forward to enjoying long-honored traditions as well as creating new ones.   

This issue is filled with homes that have a nice mix of sophisticated and festive décor. There are so many ideas that you can easily duplicate in your own home or tweak to make them your own. Interior designer Stephanie Jarvis transformed a stately riverfront home in Jacksonville, Florida, with antiques, rugs, and inviting furnishings and then added layers of greenery perfectly suited for the season. In Charlotte, North Carolina, designer Gray Walker embraced a bold color palette for a fresh take on holiday décor. Nina Long and Don Easterling took a more natural approach to decking the halls in a Milton, Georgia, home—they even decorated the charming boathouse for the holidays.
